Reames & Son Construction

Building South and Middle Georgia Since 1972

What We Do

Civil & Highway Construction

Prime contractor and subcontractor on Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) road and highway projects, including new construction, widening of existing roads, and interchange work.

We take on work that demands coordination, scale, and consistency, from public roadway systems to large commercial site development.

Asphalt Paving & Resurfacing

Asphalt paving and resurfacing supported by four company-owned asphalt plants in Valdosta, Sparks, Perry, and Cairo.

Producing our own mix puts us in position to serve paving projects efficiently across Middle and South Georgia.

Site Work & Grading

Earthwork, grading, drainage, and site development for transportation and civil infrastructure projects.

We work closely with general contractors, developers, and public agencies to deliver work that meets schedule, specification, and long-term performance expectations.

Years in Business

Under Don’s leadership, the business expanded, adding an asphalt plant in Adel, Georgia in the 1980s and later a second asphalt plant in Valdosta. In early 2000, the company constructed the first unit train terminal in South Georgia at the site of its existing Valdosta asphalt plant. A second unit train terminal followed in Sparks, Georgia in 2007, and in 2013 a new asphalt plant was constructed at the Sparks site, replacing the facilities previously located in Adel. Growth continued with the addition of the Perry asphalt plant in 2020 and the Cairo asphalt plant in 2021.

Today, Reames and Son Construction continues to grow and prosper under the leadership of Don’s two sons, Jeff Reames and Brad Reames.
